Pesta Pulau Pinang - A Must Do List If You Are in Penang on December

Pesta Pulau Pinang (Penang) held on every December in Tapak Pesta, Sungai Nibong Penang. It's a whole month event for shopping, food, fun park, sports event, rock concerts etc. under one roof. Locals used to joke, "Everything on earth can be bought in Pesta (Pulau Pinang), except mom and dad".
It is definitely a must do list if you are in Penang.

The Pesta Pulau Pinang attraction. North Sumatra Pavillion where goods and souvenirs from North Sumatra on sale.

This is not a mere semantic, really really cheap.

Real (Original and Natural) Pearl from Sabah, wholesale and retail.

Direct from factory, no middleman; cost less!

Muah ha ha!, Euro Fun Park. No need go Europe maa!!

The Pesta is all about fun and get dizzy.

Euro Wheel, for thrill and some more dizzy.

This definitely for people with stable stomach.

Uwekkkkk!!!

Merry go round, for smaller kids.

Wow, cool ride..but so fast to finish.
So guys, if you are in Penang on December, don't forget ya, Pesta Pulau Pinang, the best shopping spot plus fun park all in one. Please bring along extra luggage, just in case. :-)

My Daughter Liyana off to Khidmat Negara (National Service)

Today my daughter, Liyana off to National Service in Sik, Kedah for 3 months. Earlier when she got the letter from Khidmat Negara, she reluctant to go. After a while, she eager to go. I wonder why? Something got to do with the Colt M16 gun training.....

Khidmat Negara (National Service) is one of the platform for Malaysian Government to inculcate the "Cinta Negara" (Love your country) and multi-cultural, multi-ethnic integration which is in line with the Prime Minister  1Malaysia Project.

As parent, I supported this program to the fullest. This move is vital to maintain harmonious nation and also improve human capital.

Just now, I sent her to the pick up point near Dewan Millenium in Kepala Batas. There were 4 buses awaits. All the NS trainee look sad and puzzled. My daughter Liyana, seems a bit nervous but I pretended not aware of it. She asked me, whether or not I feel sad because she's leaving. I replied, its felt like sending her off to the hostel for 3 months. Then she kissed my cheek goodbye, and I felt a bit sad after that.

Liyana-Good Luck, all the best. Off you go to National Service.

Trip to Cameron Highlands and Perak (Part 2)

Cameron Highlands (Continue from Part 1 )
What a beauty. I can spend whole day just to admire the beauty of Cameron Highlands sky. No wonder the British love it so much in the colonial time.

One of the hotel in Brinchang.

My daughter Aesya; she "overdo". Not that cold actually.

Nice cup of coffee and a waffle to warm it up. Where are the tea and scones?

On our way back from Cameron Highlands quick trip.

Perak, see also About Perak :

Our hotel stay  in Ipoh, Hotel Ipoh City-nice and cheap, RM 93 (USD 25)

Kway Teow Soup Ipoh.

Gigantic crowd puller, The Lost World of Tambun. see official website

Free Lion "puke" massage, Lost World of Tambun.
Natural Hot Spring 38 degree C in Lost World in Tambun, Ipoh.

Taman Jepun, Ipoh City

Journey to the West

Take it easy.. no free banana.

Galery Sultan Azlan Shah, personal collection of the King of the Perak State. People's King, Law maker and also involved in many sporting activities in his younger era.

Ice cream sandwich, comfort food with a lot of childhood memories sold outside Gallery.

Sungai Kangsar Panorama, Kuala Kangsar.

Dataran Sungai Perak, Kuala Kangsar.

Classic swing bridge near Dataran Sungai Perak.

Taiping Zoo, night safari.

No joke!! Bistro in Zoo.

Public Holiday (Xmas) double with Malaysian School Holiday. So many people, yet so few animal awake. No animals' photo taken. I just follow the rules but, heck I saw people snapping photo like nobody business.
Our trip was fun and quick. Overall, Cameron was a relaxing as always. Perak trip also fun but the Night Safari was a so so due to out of controlled crowd and limited train service. If the Taiping Zoo could improved their train service, I think, they can always beat the rest in Malaysia. The Lost World of Tambun was world class. Come and enjoy "Cuti-cuti Malaysia"
